Lockerz – iAds, or 99¢ App?
Jun 10th
Well, this is the largest dilemma… We cannot decide how to make the profit for paying the $99 per year fee to be an Apple Developer, and we’ve narrowed it down to iAds, or charging 99¢ for the app itself. The problem with iAds is that it will only be available on iOS4 devices, and that will not support the first generation iPhone, and the first few generations of iPod Touches, which means that any user without the iOS4 software will not be able to install this application. Apple has more information here. The problem with charging 99¢ for the app is that some people do not have active credit cards on their account, and use iTunes gift cards, and if they run out, they cannot purchase anything, which could reduce sales. If you have any other ideas, please leave a comment.
